About Don Temple Storage
Don Temple Storage is a family-owned storage facility in Long Beach, California. We have been in business since the 1960s, when Don Temple built his first self-storage units in the area. More than sixty years later, the same family runs both locations on East Spring Street, and the way we do business has not changed much.

Where We Started
Don Temple got into the storage business in Long Beach in the 1960s, at a time when self-storage was not yet the established industry it is today. He saw that people needed a secure, accessible place to store their belongings and large vehicles, and he built something to meet that need. The original concept was straightforward: give people a clean, well-run facility at a fair price, treat them with respect, and keep things simple.
That is still the idea. Don Temple Storage has grown over the decades to include two locations on East Spring Street, 1,400 spaces across 40 unit sizes, outdoor storage for RVs and boats, and one of the few public RV dump stations in the Long Beach area. But the family name is still on the sign, and the people running the facilities are the same family that started it.

A Family Business, Not a Chain
There are a lot of storage facilities in Long Beach. Most of them are branches of national chains: Public Storage, Extra Space, CubeSmart. You know what you are getting with those places, and it is not necessarily bad, but it is not personal either. The person you talk to at the desk probably does not know the history of the facility, who built it, or anything about the neighborhood it sits in.
Don Temple Storage is different in that way. When you call one of our locations, you reach someone who actually works there. When you have a question or a problem, you talk to a person who has been here long enough to know the answers. The staff at both Spring Street locations are people who care about how the business runs, because this business belongs to the family they work for.
That is not something you can manufacture or brand your way into. It just comes from six decades of showing up and doing the work.

What Don Temple Storage Offers
Our two Long Beach locations on East Spring Street offer a range of storage services designed around the needs of the people and businesses in this area.
Self storage units
Both locations offer self-storage units in 40 different sizes, with a combined total of 1,400 spaces. Lower-level units have drive-up access. All rentals are month-to-month with no long-term contracts required.
Outdoor RV storage
The main location at 3750 E Spring Street has a fenced, key card-access outdoor lot for RVs, motorhomes, travel trailers, and fifth wheels. We accommodate vehicles up to 50 feet long and 14 feet tall, matching California's legal road height limit.
Boat and watercraft storage
Boats, trailers, and personal watercraft are stored in the same outdoor fenced lot at the main Spring Street location. If you are tired of marina rates for a boat you are not using every week, outdoor storage is a practical and lower-cost alternative.
Public RV dump station
Don Temple Storage has one of the few public RV dump stations in the Long Beach area at the main location on East Spring Street. It is open to the public for $25 per dump and free for current tenants. No appointment needed, seven days a week during business hours.
